Heat lamps for warming up prepared dishes

Heat lamps for warming up prepared dishes
03 Martha 2020 - 13:32 Views:3534

Every food service establishment, one way or another, faces the need to keep prepared food warm before serving it to the customer.
Special heating equipment is intended for this purpose: chafing dishes , heating surfaces and bridges , and heated display cases .

The current trend toward fast service without sacrificing quality is encouraging business owners to seek universal solutions that don't require large investments.
It is very convenient when ready-made pizza, sandwiches or paninis, burgers or hot dogs, various snacks are served and kept at the optimal temperature for the required time.
And the most modern choice today is heat lamps.
These lamps are widely used in restaurant kitchens, where food is served to waiters, as well as in self-service areas, at counters, buffets, and in off-premise catering.
Heat lamps are designed to keep prepared dishes hot for a short time.
Thanks to the wide range of models available on the market, the design and color of heat lamps can be matched to any interior style.

A heating lamp consists of an infrared lamp placed in a lampshade, usually aluminum, on a cord, and is usually intended for ceiling mounting.
Food is heated using infrared radiation emitted by a special IR lamp. The 250-watt IR lamp can heat up to 1 kg of cooked food.
If the lamp fails, it can be easily replaced with a new one.
For convenient heating control, the lamps are equipped with an adjustable spiral cord ranging from 60 to 180 cm in length. The recommended distance from the lamp to the product is approximately 40-50 cm.
Depending on the distance, the heating temperature is usually between 40 and 80 C.
Infrared radiation allows you to heat food within the lamp's area without drying it out, and does not heat up the air or surrounding objects.
The lamp operates silently, does not emit odors, and does not burn oxygen.
Thermal energy is absorbed by the product, heating it not only on the surface, but also in depth.
As is known, bacteria in food products multiply in the range
temperatures from 4°C to 58°C, so by maintaining the temperature above 60°C with a heat lamp, you keep food safe without compromising taste and quality.
As for care recommendations, it's worth noting that IR lamps should be kept away from moisture and splashes of water. When using them, please also keep in mind that infrared radiation is harmful to the eyes.

Let's summarize the advantages of using heat lamps to warm up food:
