Chafindishes are used to warm up first and second courses and present them effectively in cafes and restaurants, as well as at outdoor events, buffets, and other types of establishments. Most chafindishes are heated with a special flammable gel. A gel container is included with each chafindishe. Some models are equipped with an electric heater. Gastronorm pan lids can be removable or sliding. Most chafindishes come with GN-1/1 standard rectangular pans measuring 530 x 325 mm. A chafindish (or chafing dish) is a tabletop appliance for continuously warming food. The temperature is maintained by burning gel, which is placed in small containers under the chafindish's base. Some chafindishes can be nested inside one another, or with folding legs, which is very convenient, as space is a key issue in mobile retail.
