Optimal rice cooking results depend on the appropriate proportions of rice and water. When cooking rice, follow the instructions on the rice package and check:
* rice variety
* was the rice pre-cooked?
Pre-cooked rice is available commercially as instant rice, etc.
Other rice details (white or brown, long-grain or short-grain, wild rice, basmati, etc.) relate to quality and flavor. These aren't essential to the cooking process. A little salt can be added to the water for flavor.
Preparing plain rice (uncooked) Rinsing rice before boiling will reduce its stickiness, but will also reduce its nutritional value. Soaking raw rice for 5-10 minutes before boiling will result in softer cooked rice.
1. Using a measuring cup, measure out the appropriate amount of rice and pour the rice into the rice cooker.
2. Pour the appropriate amount of water into the inner pot. This amount depends on the amount of rice added and is determined using the scale in the inner pot. For example, if we want to cook 4 measuring cups of rice, the inner pot should be filled with water to the 4-cup mark.
3. Place the filled inner container into the outer container and close the lid until it locks into place and “clicks” into place.
CAUTION! Make sure there are no crumbs on the outer surface of the inner container or the surface of the heating plate.
4. Insert the plug into the power socket.
5. Turn the ON/OFF switch down. The red "COOKING" indicator will light. The lid must be closed during cooking.
6. After a certain time, the rice cooker will automatically switch to the keep warm mode and the green “KEEP WARM” indicator will light up.
7. Before removing the rice, leave it under the lid for another 5 minutes. 8. Press the lock button and open the lid. 9. Remove the plug from the power socket.

When measuring water for instant rice, it's best to follow the directions on the rice package.
1. Pour the measured amount of water into the inner container.
2. Insert the inner container into the rice cooker and close the lid.
3. Insert the plug into the power socket.
4. Turn the ON/OFF switch down. The red "COOK" indicator will light up.
5. When the water starts boiling, pour the measured amount of instant rice into the inner container.
6. Close the lid and cook the rice for as long as the rice manufacturer recommends on the package.
7. Remove the plug from the power socket.
8. Continue as described on the instant rice package.
9. Some types of rice should swell after boiling for another 15 minutes under the lid.
Steaming A rice cooker can also be used for steaming. Use a strainer for this. Vegetables are especially well suited for steaming, as this method preserves their nutritional value.
