Churros, also known as churro (Spanish: churros), are sweet fried pastries made from choux pastry, shaped like a multi-pointed star or simply round in cross-section. The birthplace of churros is considered
Spain, where churros are traditionally served for breakfast.
A crispy stick shaped like a multi-pointed star. The dough has a very simple recipe. Churros can be sprinkled with salt, powdered sugar, or dipped in chocolate, jam, or preserves. They can also be filled with various creams and jams.
Churros (Spanish cookies) machines from Khrumtik are a simple, inexpensive, and reliable option for producing a quality product.
Advantages of the Hrumtik churro forming machine :
- easy change of bunkers;
- easy change of dies;
- easy cleaning of the hopper and die;
- inexpensive dough recipe (water and flour);
- the ability to form 3 dough streams at once;
- convenient 360 degree rotating console stand.
To fry the churros formed by the machine, you will also need to purchase a cheburechnitsa or deep fryer, which you can choose from on our website in
the Deep Fryers or
Cheburechnitsa categories.
There are two main types of churros:
thin in cross-section in the shape of a star and sometimes bent into a horseshoe or in the shape of a lasso loop (Spanish: churros en lazo);
thin or thick, long (Spanish: churros rectos), round or star-shaped in cross-section.
The type of churros (their diameter) depends on the method of preparation: if a special machine is used, then churros with a star-shaped diameter can be obtained; if prepared by hand, then churros with a simple round diameter can be obtained.
There are variations of churros with filling (Spanish: churros porra) and with chocolate glaze (Spanish: churros de chocolate).
Churros with hot chocolate
Initially, churros were simply round in cross-section, since the equipment for making different types of churros appeared relatively recently. Or star-shaped in cross-section.

Ingredients for making Spanish dessert Churros:
Dough
- Water - 100 ml
- Butter - 80 g
- Sugar - 2 tsp.
- Salt - 1/4 tsp.
- Wheat flour - 120 g
- Chicken eggs - 2 pcs.
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 1 cup.
Sprinkling
- Cane sugar (regular sugar is fine) - 80 g
- Cinnamon - 1 tsp.
Place water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Place over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the flour all at once.
Mix thoroughly until the dough is smooth and forms a ball (this usually takes about 3 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time. Don't worry if the dough starts to break apart and become lumpy as you add the eggs. Continue mixing until smooth.
IMPORTANT: add the next egg only after the dough has completely combined with the first and has become homogeneous.
As a result, the dough should be smooth and shiny.
Separately mix brown sugar (regular sugar is fine) and cinnamon for sprinkling (it’s best to do this in a deep bowl).
Transfer the dough into the Khrumtik machine's hopper. Fill the deep fryer with oil and fry the churosses prepared in the machine.
We squeeze out strips of dough 5-10 cm long, cutting them off at the die with a sharp knife.
Fry until golden brown. As soon as you remove the churros, immediately dip each one in the sugar mixture (it's best to remove them with a slotted spoon, allowing any excess oil to drain off).
After cooling slightly, the finished product is ready. The churros can also be drizzled with chocolate.
